A Two and a Half Day Trip to Utah!

Matt's brother's family was experiencing two big events, so we made the decision to head down to Utah for a less than three day visit.  We left at 6 am Friday morning and were pulling back into our driveway 11:30 pm Sunday night.  It was quick but so worth it.  Matt and I kept telling each other how glad we did it.
The kids were amazing on the drives.  We only had to make one stop both ways for a gas and bathroom break.  How in the world that all coincided is beyond me, but it sure makes the trip go faster.  Faye was such a big help keeping Austin and Evelyn entertained.

We spent the first part of Saturday we spent it with my mom, Michael, and Amanda.  We went to This is the Place Heritage Park in SLC.  I loved the mix of educational and fun.  There was practice milking a cow, visit to a printer shop and learn the history, train rides, panning for gold, old ship replica, and horse rides.

And then Saturday afternoon we headed up to Plain City for our neice, Katherine, and her new husband, Zach's, reception.  Denice did an absolutely amazing job at transforming their backyard into a magical place.

We got to see Matt's brother, Ryan, and his family for a little bit.  They came up from Provo.

Katherine's colors where brown and green, and the decorations were lovely...such a vintage charm to it.

As soon as the bride and groom had left the scene, Evelyn wouldn't budge from the table as she waited for a piece of cake.
Here she is with her cousin, Becca, and her Aunt Denice.

The kids, especially Lucas, made fast friends with Julayne.  She was adorable with them, and Lucas would not leave her side!

Matt with his brothers David and Andrew (proud father-of-the-bride).

Sunday morning we joined their family again for our niece, Sarah's, mission farewell talk in Sacrament meeting at church.  She is going to the California Ventura Mission Spanish speaking to be a missionary for 18 months for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  We are so proud of her and excited for all the work and miracles that will take place in her life.  She gave a great talk, and you can tell she will connect well with those she comes in contact with.  They will love her!

Us with Julayne.  And yeah, Lucas.

And then at 2 pm Sunday afternoon we did it all over again!
