All 5 Fingers!

Calvin turned 5 on Monday. Calvin was excited for his birthday and pleased to find his streamers and balloons when he came upstairs. We filled the day with things we don't usually do: like watching cartoons while I get ready, having Taco Bell for lunch, and playing with play dough for hours. Calvin had requested our homemade pizza for dinner which we ate while we watched a movie.

Then it was time for presents. He received a lot of great gifts. Thank you to everyone! There seemed to be a sports theme with a new tee ball set, soccer ball, and nerf football. He's been wanting to go outside every day to try them out.

A new thing this year was that Calvin was able to read his own birthday cards. The card above reads, "Hi, 5 year old," but Calvin read it, "Hi, you're old." It was funny because he started to chuckle at that. He likes being old and shows us how he can do all sorts of new things...because he's 5!

Calvin was a good helper in making his soccer ball cake.

Contemplating his wish...blowing out the candles...ready to eat.
