Trip to Salt Lake

A couple of weekends before Thanksgiving Austin and I were able to fly to visit my family in Utah.  It was his first time to fly.  I was very grateful that both flights had empty seats so I was able to take his car seat on board.  That always makes things much easier.  Austin did great on the flights.  He loved waving to the other passengers, and people were great to interact with him.  It really helps break up the time when he gets distracted for awhile.  (So if you are ever flying with a baby nearby take a minute to wave or play a game of peek-a-boo. I promise the parent will be very appreciative.)

We woke up to snow falling Friday morning.  That was a surprise.  But luckily the rounds were clear and we were able to drive down to visit my old roommate.  It was fun to see her and her new baby who is just a few months younger than Austin.

Having fun hanging out and playing.

Austin got to meet my Uncle Robert.

We went to the aquarium in Sandy.  It was fun to walk and chat and be out of the cold.  I love watching my mom and brother interact with Austin.

I was noticing how in a lot of the pictures Austin is holding his favorite baby (his sleep buddy--thank you Aunt Kayla!).  He seemed to be extra attached to it while we were away from home.

We were laughing so hard during these next few pictures.  Austin started going after Michael's hair.  He must have liked the taste of his hair gel or something because he kept bending in to suck on his hair.  He thought it was hilarious...Michael wasn't so sure.

It snowed and snowed.  This was Sunday morning.  Apparently we were present for one of their heaviest snow falls in a long time.

I shared some of my craftiness with my mom, and we made this fun little wood turkey for Thanksgiving.

We enjoyed our trip.  And a big thank you to Matt for taking off work to be home with the kids!

It all looks so fun. I loved the kid's costumes and also Austin's nursery. I loved the Halloween decorations and the pumpkin carving. That is a fun tradition! Great canning. I did a bit this year, also. It was fun! I love you all!
