Trip to the beach

Friday we went to Canon Beach and had a great time! It was perfect weather: cloudy and cooler in the morning and then sunshine and hot in the afternoon. We really made ourselves at home by building a fire to roast hot dogs and marshmallows and setting up a tent for Lucas to nap in.

Calvin and Faye had fun playing with their sand toys and chasing the waves.

This was Lucas' first experience playing in the sand...and he LOVED it! He even knew not to put it in his mouth.

We enjoyed a walk along the shore.

I thought this was such an amazing picture of Haystack Rock.

We finished off the day by having dinner at our favorite beach restaurant.

And another first for Lucas: His first sunburn. We weren't quick enough with the sunscreen, and we all came home with some red.
