"I can run faster now that I am 4!"

I thought it was so cute when she said that. She has been looking forward to this birthday for quite awhile. She opened her bedroom door to a surprise of balloons and us singing to her.

We went to play group in the morning, and Faye had fun passing out the cupcakes we had made.

Here she is helping me make her birthday cake.

Faye doing the "birthday" dance. She was showing off all the new things she can do!

This was, by far, the hardest cake I have put together. Faye's request was a princess castle cake. I found a great video online, but I have found it (which I seem to always forget) to be much more of a process than they make it look. So it looks nothing like it was supposed to (though a lot better than I thought it would when I was in the middle of all the baking), except for maybe the towers, but Faye was still delighted with it. Without any prompting, she gave me a big thank you for making it. The best part was the icing. I blended in strawberries with the sugar to give it a pink color, and it tasted delicious.

Faye is our spunky big girl. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to ask for it. She fluctuates between moments of sassiness and drama to calm and collected. She is an amazing helper. She still catches me by surprise when she asks if she can put the silverware in the drawer or if she can throw Lucas' diapers away. She knows exactly where Calvin's buttons are and doesn't hesitate to push them. She is an entertaining big sister, and her dad's greatest tickling fan.
Faye is fun, talkative, caring, creative, and giggly.

She's so cute. And your cake looks delicious. I did a princess cake for our Samantha when she turned 4... your cones were better than mine (paper covered in frosting). :) Looks like she loved it all, huh?
